CULT BOOKS IN TRANSLATION is a new monthly book club devoted to radical new titles and criminally under-read classics, all in translation. Upcoming titles will include Banana Yoshimoto’s KITCHEN and Albertine Sarrazin’s ASTRAGAL. Join us for endless wine, mezze platters and irreverent, fun discussion led by Gower Street’s Amber Matthews and Elizabeth Morris. Book your tickets here.
Our book for NOVEMBER 23rd will be PANTY by Sangeeta Bandyopadhyay, translated by Arunava Sinha. Surreal and darkly erotic, this novel has been credited with reintroducing ‘hardcore sexuality into Bengali literature’, and has drawn comparisons with Elena Ferrante.
