Over the last few years a wealth of talented new Nigerian writers have burst onto the UK’s literary scene. Join rising stars Chibundu Onuzo and Ayọ̀bámi Adébáyọ̀ as they chat to Naomi Frisby (The Writes of Woman) about their new novels.

Ayọ̀bámi Adébáyọ̀ is the debut author of Stay With Me, a devastating story of the fragility of married love, the undoing of family, the wretchedness of grief, and the all-consuming bonds of motherhood, set against the backdrop of social and political turbulence in 1980s Nigeria.

Chibundu Onuzo is the prize-winning author of The Spider King's Daughter. Her second novel Welcome To Lagos is a powerful and provocative portrait of contemporary Nigeria. Full of shimmering detail, it is a stunning portrayal of Lagos and of seven lives that intersect in a story of courage and survival.
